WVMS welcomes excited students and families to Look-See Days

As the Warwick Valley Central School District prepares to kick off the 2026-2027 academic year, Warwick Valley Middle School is helping students start strong with its annual “Look-See Days.”

These special events, held this Tuesday and Wednesday, offered students and their families a welcoming opportunity to explore the school building before the first day of classes next week.

During the Look-See Days, students were invited and encouraged to explore the middle school on self-guided tours, walk through their daily schedules, and locate their classrooms. The aim is to help everyone feel comfortable and confident navigating the halls on the first day of school. Student schedules for the upcoming year were available in advance via the Warwick Valley Central School District Parent Portal so that families could print or bookmark them for reference.

For families in need of a little assistance, the middle school was proud to provide student ambassadors—nearly 50 enthusiastic Wildcat Ambassadors—who were stationed throughout the building, ready to offer directions and answer questions. While classrooms remained closed, there were many students eagerly sneaking a peek through the windows. Students were also excited to find and personalize their lockers, and the Wildcat Ambassadors were especially helpful to students sorting out how to use a combination lock for the first time!

While the Look-See Days are optional, the halls were teeming with smiling families eager to take advantage of this valuable head start for incoming fifth graders experiencing their new school for the very first time. WVMS principal Jared Yapkowitz, along with associate principals Christopher Radon and Andrew Rao, extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and look forward to welcoming all Wildcats back on Wednesday for a smooth and successful start to the school year.
